On Saturday, May 25, 2003 A.S 38, Clan Wulfgard held it's spring meeting. Following is a summary of that meeting. Lots of things and changes are afoot so all members should read through this.

The meeting was called to order at 9:34 p.m. by Laird Wulfric, and folks, our beloved Chief and Chieftess have been busy! Read on for details.
The first order of business was the presentation of membership certificates. Attractive, signed by the chief, and suitable for framing certificates have been designed by Theodora and approved by Wulfric. These new certificates were presented to current members Grimolfr, Hrefna, and Adrienne. But wait! There's more.
New memberships cards have also been issued. They, too, are attractive, signed by the Chief, and laminated for your protection. Those members who were not present for this meeting will need to contact the Theodora to make arrangements to receive their certificates and cards. Those attending Pennsic will be able to pick up theirs from Wulfric.
Certificates have also been designed for the Order of the Wolf's Tail, a Wulfgard award given to those who have worked their tails off beyond the call of duty for the benefit of the Clan. Certificates were presented to past winners Hrefna of Wulfgard (for her work at Pennsic 30) and to Adrienne MacLeod (for her work at Pennsic 31) along with their membership certificates and cards.
NEW MEMBERS
With great pleasure, our Chief and Chieftess unveiled a new membership induction ceremony in which two associates were elevated to full member status.
Clan Wulfgard is please and honored to accept Caitilin inghean Ui Laoghaire and Lord Aedden Ivor as full members of the Clan. Laird Wulfric and Lady Theodora performed the induction ceremony and presented our new members with their attractive, suitable for framing membership certificates and their laminated for your protection membership cards.
Three cheers for our newest members!
In other news, our High Chief presented our High Chieftess, the Lady Theodora, with the Order of the Wolf's Tail for all the work she does to keep the household going. Theodora was much surprised by receiving this honor, especially the newly designed certificate. Who knew that Wulfric could figure out how to print the darn thing? With the help of several accomplices, Wulfric was able to print the certificate himself without Theodora knowing anything was afoot.
As I mentioned, our Chief and Chieftess have been busy. Our household has now grown to be large enough and busy enough that we need officers to help us chronicle our traditions, exploits, policies, and bylaws. To that end, several offices have been established and some of them have filled already. An induction ceremony was written by Wulfric and Theodora and some of our new offices were sworn in at the meeting. Those officers who have accepted positions, but were able to attend this meeting will receive their certificates at a later date yet to be arranged.

Wulfric and Theodora are also working on writing up the household policies into book form. The tentative title is The Great Book of Wulfgard. This book will contain the history, songs, stories, tradtions, bylaws, standards of conduct, and philosophies of Clan Wulfgard. Having these things documented will provide members living in distant lands with the knowledge they would need to establish branches of the Clan. We are working on getting the first edition typed up now and partions are posted to the Wulfrunes News & Information section.
Lord Aedden Ivor was presented with a single-handed great sword as a symbol of his status as a household fighter, and speaking of archers, Wulf has secured permission for the household to use the archery field at Sparks Sports Center, which in near where Wulfric and Theodora live. The plan at the moment is to meet for archery practice on Sundays at 4 pm after Sylvan Glens fighter practice at Poorhouse Farm. Anyone interested in joining the practice session should contact Wulfric. Dates and times are subject to change.
The High Chief and Chieftess, in their bountiful wisdom, have decided to introduce a small membership fee of $5.00 per adult member. This fee will pay for the Wulfrunes web hosting service thus eliminating the annoying pop-up ads on a free hosting site. The
balance of the fees left over will go towards the Wulfgard Wonder Meade Fund and other household activities. Please contact Theodora to make arrangements for the payment of this small fee.
***********IMPORTANT PENNSIC NEWS***********
Only a handful of people have actually pre-registered for Pennsic as of this late date. The deadline for pre-registration is June 1, 2003 which is on a Sunday this year. Tomorrow is Memorial Day so there will be no mail delivery. Your registration needs to arrive by May 31. If you are not pre-registered, you WILL NOT be allowed to camp with Wulfgard. If you have not pre-registered for the war, you are STRONGLY urged to do so with a credit card at this link as soon as possible:
http://www.cooperslake.com/prereg32.htm
Over the past months, there have been members of Wulfgard who have mailed packages by regular mail and found delivery times to be excruciatingly slow. Register online or mail your pre-reg Express mail or Fedex or UPS. As soon as you get your pre-reg info,
send it to our land agent, Adrienne McLeod.
There will be a camp fee of $20 per adult for this Pennsic to help pay for an in-camp shower, firewood, the Scottish Rebellion, and other camp amenities. This fee is Due May 30, 2003 as noted earlier in the year on the mailing list. Contact Theodora to make payment arrangements. This fee in needed to build the items in advance that are needed in camp.
The Scottish Rebellion will occur on the Tuesday of War Week, August 12th. 2003. The household meeting will start at 7pm with the rebellion starting at 8pm. All members must help with set up. We are hoping to have pre-printed fliers and maybe even a couple of posters for this at war, and remember it always the policy of Clan Wulfgard that underage drinking will not be tolerated. This is grounds for expulsion from the household as is supplying underage drinkers with alcohol.
The Chief is considering replacing our faded household and combat banners. Donations of red, black, and white canvas for these projects would be greatly appreciated.
We are also considering Clan Wulfgard favors and are asking for suggestions. We do have a cross stitch pattern for the household badge available already that we hope to have up on the webpage soon. In the meantime, anyone interested in getting a copy should contact Wulfric or Theodora.
Clan Wulfgard has been added to several web rings.

to fight at Pennsic.
Details will be forthcoming.
Wulf has reserved a U-haul truck for Pennsic. Anyone who needs help getting big items to the site or who would just like to have a little extra room in their vehicle for the drive needs to contact Wulfric or Theodora. The sooner the better as space will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Caitilin suggested that household members consider coordinating their garb with household colors, and Wulfric agreed that this would be a good household display of unity. Hrefna suggested that officers could have dress garb in household colors to wear to official household functions.
And finally, but by no means the least, Adrienne called our newest members, Caitilin and Aedden forward for a household butt dance enjoyed by all.
The High Chieftess adjourned the meeting at 10:50pm.
Entertainment followed the meeting in the form of drumming by Theodora, Grimolfr, Jacob, and Frang. Adrienne and Caitilin performed belly dancing and the Macarena and Wulf provided a musical interlude featuring the nasal bagpipes.
