Clan Wulfgard Policies - Heraldry & Symbols
Throughout the eons of human history, people have maintained a group identity through the use of symbols. Even before written names, pictures and items were used to represent people and ideas. A group mind and security can be developed this way and that leads to group identity and focus.
Our clan uses the long standing tradition of symbols and their use in the same manner. Our banners, awards, and symbolic items allow each of our members to have a physical focus and tradition to draw pride from. We are proud not because of things, but because of what these thing represent to us as a group.
~The Badge of Clan Wulfgard~
The badge of Clan Wulfgard is also a personal badge and property of Laird Wulfric Grimbeald. It's blazon is as follows: Sable, on a triskelion of wolves heads argent a torteau, a bordure argent. The silver border of the badge symbolizes the unbroken circle of the family bond we share with each other. The three wolves heads represent the three tenets of the household, Honor, Hospitality and Courage. The circle of red in the center is the heart of passion that beats within each of our members. Together these thing are what Clan Wulfgard represents.
The badge may be displayed on a solid red or solid white background for hanging or attachment purposes. The badge may be used by any clan member as appropriate. Baldric, favor, and banner display are all approved by the High Chief and High Chieftess, as well as use in heraldic clothing.
While the display by members is not heavily regulated, the use of the badge as a permanent body modification is restricted. Only Patron members may use the Wulfgard badge as a permanent tattoo.

~Medallions & Favors~
Section Pending
~Sounding Horn~
From the beginning Clan Wulfgard has announced its presence with the bellow of a sounding horn. Our clan members are gathered by its call, and when followed by the call of "Wulfgard" all know it is a summons. Every ally of the clan has received a horn of their own with the knowledge that when they need us all they have to do is call.
~War Arrow~
The Clan Wulfgard War Arrow is a three foot long, hand made, ballista bolt. The household attaches message scrolls for transport to our allies and employers. The transportation of the arrow and its messages are the responsibility of the clan Fréki and Geri, the commanders of the combat and archery units of the household. The bolt represents our pledge to honorably fulfill our contracts and oaths with all that they may entail.
~Short sword~
The fighters of the clan's mercenary unit are given a Short sword in the form of a small claymore. The shape reminds us of our Hiberno-Saxon "roots" and the size represents our clan ... Small Yet Deadly.
